Dear
Parishioner
St. James Church is currently in the process of determining the future
direction of the parish. This is being undertaken at the request of Parish
Council, as it has been five years since the last set of goals and
priorities were established. This process will result in the formation of
a Mission Statement, as well as the identification of short and long-term
goals.
We need your involvement. Our Mission Statement Steering Committee has
developed an exercise so that all members of the parish can play an active
role in the development of the Mission Statement, and the goals which will
accompany it. The Committee has scheduled sessions to conduct this
exercise with the established groups that meet regularly within the
parish.
We have also scheduled a special meeting for everyone who does not
currently belong to a parish group. Please accept my open invitation to
participate in this important exercise. The meeting will be on Monday,
March 3rd, 7:30 p.m. in the Townsend Room, which is located in the Church
Hall. You need not bring anything to this meeting other than your desire
to participate. Materials for the exercise will be provided, and the
session should last about two hours.
If you are unable to attend the scheduled meetings, you can still
participate in this process by calling the Parish Office at 477-6770 to
leave a message for the Mission Statement Steering Committee. We will then
get in touch with you to bring your thoughts into this parish-wide
initiative.
Share your ideas, dreams and hopes with us at St. James. Thank you.
On behalf of Carmon Stone and the Mission Statement Steering Committee,
Yours Sincerely,
Archdeacon Rod Gillis |
