READING FROM THE BOOK OF JEREMIAH
The days are surely coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new
covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. It will
not be like the covenant that I made with their ancestors when I
took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt - a
covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, says the
Lord. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of
Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my law within
them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their
God, and they shall be my people. No longer shall they teach one
another, or say to each other, "Know the Lord," for they
shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says
the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their
sin no more.
REFRAIN I will lift up the cup of salvation.

READING FROM THE LETTER TO THE HEBREWS
"This is the covenant that I will make with them after those
days, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I
will write them on their minds," he also adds, "I will
remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more." Where
there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for
sin. Therefore, my friends, since we have confidence to enter the
sanctuary by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he
opened for us through the curtain (that is, through his flesh),
and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us
approach with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our
hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies
washed with pure water. Let us hold fast to the confession of our
hope without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful. And
let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds,
not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but
encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day
HOLY GOSPEL OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST
ACCORDING TO LUKE
came the day of Unleavened Bread, on which the Passover lamb had
to be sacrificed. So Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and
prepare the Passover meal for us that we may eat it.” They asked
him, “Where do you want us to make preparations for it?” “Listen,”
he said to them, “when you have entered the city, a man carrying
a jar of water will meet you; follow him into the house he enters
and say to the owner of the house, ‘The teacher asks you, “Where
is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’
He will show you a large room upstairs, already furnished. Make
preparations for us there.” So they went and found everything as
he had told them; and they prepared the Passover meal.
the hour came, he took his place at the table, and the apostles
with him. He said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this
Passover with you before I suffer; for I tell you, I will not eat
it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” Then he took a
cup, and after giving thanks he said, “Take this and divide it
among yourselves; for I tell you that from now on I will not drink
of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” Then
he took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it
and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given
for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” And he did the same with
the cup after supper, saying, “This cup that is poured out for
you is the new covenant in my blood.
